This school has got permanent recognition from the Eastern Regional Committee of the National Council for Teacher Education to carry on the course of “Certified Teachers’ Training Course in the academic session 2001-2002.

After the establishment of the NCTE, 1993, this institution went through the statutory provisions of NCTE Act and the application for recognition was made in 1996. As per the Order of Eastern Regional Committee (ERC), National Council for the Teacher Education vide No. ERC/7-20/2001/2555, Dated the September 5, 2001, “In exercise of the powers vested under Section 14(3) (a) of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) Act, 1993, the Eastern Regional Committee grants recognition to Thompson Women’s Training Institute, Cuttack, Mission Road, GPO: Buxi Bazar, Dist: Cuttack- 753 001(Orissa) for Certified Teachers’ (C.T.) course of two years duration from the academic year 2001-2002 with an annual intake of 50 students.” As per the rules and regulation of the NCTE the institute always fulfilling the conditions of the recognition under the provision of NCTE Act.

As per the recommendation of the State Govt. the C.T. Training Course is renamed as Diploma in Elementary Education (D.EL.Ed) from 2013.
